Riots in Tallinn

Riots broke out Thursday night in central Tallinn as demonstrators protesting government plans to move a war memorial. Security forces used water cannon, flash bombs and tear gas.
More than 100 rioters had been arrested.
Five civilians were reported injured during the clashes, Baltic News Service BNS wrote. One had a broken leg, and the others had head injuries caused by flying projectiles, the wire said.

People says the memorial honours Soviet troops who died liberating Europe from fascism.
Earlier this year, Estonia's nationalist government pledged to move the monument and the unknown number of graves it covers to a less central location, such as a military cemetery in Tallinn. The demonstrations served as reason monument to be destroyed which made people angry.
