$20 000 more for Haiti Fund

The airlines Associations Barbados INC. donated BDS$20 000 to the Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Appeal fund.
President of the Airlines Association John White, said after seeing the pictures of death and destruction in Haiti, the organisation felt it had to do something to assist in the relief effort.
"We have dug deep today to make this donation we know would be put to very good use towards helping to alleviate in some small way, the suffering of the Haitian people" he said.

Director general of the Red Cross Edmond Bradshaw, in accepting the cheque, said the donation represented an admirable extension of service above self and thanked the organisation for their generous contribution.
The Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Appeal will run until the end of February and the organisation encourages continued donations.
